I needed a new wallet for travelling. I had seen the aluminum wallets on TV and heard they were the way to go for protecting credit card info from identity thieves. After doing research on them I found out they don't hold enough stuff to be considered a wallet and the hinges and clasps break easily. So I did a search on RFID leather wallets and came up with quite a few on here. After looking at prices and pictures and reviews I decided to go cheap and bought this one. I am glad I did.First off it is a real leather bifold wallet. Not a cheap piece. Not top dollar designer quality either but still it is well made. Worth the price.It has 2 pockets for bills plus a zipper pocket and enough card slots for my license, credit card, and other cards I carry like medical insurance card and discount cards for stores. It doesn't feel any thicker or heavier than the wallet I am replacing, so whatever they use inside the wallet for RFID protection is thin and lightweight.I am not a fan of the plastic card holder insert things so I just removed it and saved it in case I decide I need it later.I checked to see if my electronic time card "fob" can be scanned through the wallet holding it up to the RFID timecard reader at work. It cannot read through the wallet. So it does what it's supposed to, it protects whatever you have in your wallet from being read by a scanner.I don't know how real the threat of having credit card and passport info stolen through wallets by ID thieves is, but I figured it can't hurt to be on the safe side.
